we are returning to fisherground the 4th of august & woz wondering if anyone here has been to the boot inn near to fisherground??

I think the one on the corner is the King George. Boot is the last stop on the L`il Ratty, the little steam train that runs past Fisherground, so I am hazarding a guess that Boot Inn is within walking distance. You could always ring Fisherground and ask.

Fishergound and Eskdale are about 20 mins from us so if you want any information about the area just give us a yell.

Went there at Whit.  The Boot Inn is in, well, Boot !  It used to be called the Burnmoor Inn - still has that name painted high on the outside wall.  Up to a couple of miles from campsite up the Eskdale Valley (next left after Dalegarth Station).  Great, proper food - none of this Beafeater/Brewers Fayre where they count your chips and peas !

Another good one is the Bower House Inn  (http://www.bowerhouseinn.co.uk/) - it is in the opposite direction through Eskdale Green. Has a large spacious garden and the food is also good.   Haven't been to the King George so can't comment.
