Not camped there, but been over (my son used to live there)
You can see the whole Island in a day ...... we done 9 attractions in one day lol
The Little Chapel is worth a visit
If I remember right you can't buy alcohol on a Sunday, only when eating out
The Island radio is worth a listen too ........ they have the news every hour and report what happening on the island ........ when we were there ..... the refuse collections were running behind, due to illness ........ and someone had been taking milk off the door step before peeps in a street got up ..... When they have phone in shows, the dj knows everyone he talks too .....
The speed limit is 35 ....... and they have a filter system ... it's easy after a few miles lol
Hope that's of some help and you have a wonderful time ....... we loved over there, once we finally arrived ... but that's another story lol
DRIVING IN GUERNSEY
The roads are narrow, there are special rules, and not all the signs will be familiar to you. The following information highlights the differences between driving in Guernsey and driving in other countries. Please take the time to print this out, bring it with you and read it carefully before you venture onto the roads.
The filter in turn system Some junctions have filter in turn on a sign and painted on the road. Approach them with care! At these junctions all directions have equal priority. You must only enter the junction in turn with other vehicles. These are also usually box junctions, so you must not enter the box unless your exit is clear.
Yellow stop lines A yellow line across the exit of a minor road means stop and give way to traffic on the major road. A yellow arrow painted on the road gives warning of a yellow line ahead.
Yellow No Stopping lines A single yellow line painted along the side of the road or pavement means that vehicles must not stop for any reason other than to avoid an accident.
Maximum speed 35mph The maximum speed limit in the Island is 35mph (56kph). There are lower speed limits in some areas. In and around the town the speed limit is 25mph (40kph). Remember, however, that these are maximum speeds, not recommended speeds, and in many places a much lower speed is necessary for safe driving.

Hi Camperman
Loads of superb coastal walks, especially round the south coast. Park at Icart or Jerbourg and head left or right! Moulin Huet is a beautiful cove and lovely for swimming from if you prefer rock pools and cliffs to the more open beaches on the West coast.
The Fauquets valley is one of the prettiest inland areas, but you will find the pronounciation of a lot of the island places designed especially to catch out the tourist! Fauquets is pronounced Fow-key, i.e. slightly French but Jerbourg I mentioned above is Jer-berg (not jairr-bourrrr which the frogs would say) and Moulin Huet is moolan wet!
Sark is only 45mins away with regular ferry crossings several times a day in the Summer. You will want at least a full day there and the lack of traffic (apart from the odd tractor) means it is fun to hire bikes.
There is a thriving local music scene, but I am out of touch with the best local pubs/clubs, the local FM radio station, Island FM 104.7, gives regular what's on listings especially for young people, I have put a link to their Gig guide below, or the tourist board will help their website has quite a lot of useful info Visit Guernsey. you can also check out som of the special events on this month. The Roquaine regatta (29th July) always used to be lots of fun.
i usually fly to visit my parents as I live in the Midlands so can't comment on the ferries, (I do have a few unpleasant memories of when i was a student coming home for Christmas hols, we used to call the then SeaLink ferries "Sicklink"), but you shouldn't have really bad weather at this time of year.
Gig guide
Have fun and hope the sun shines on your tent!
