...umberland is what we are looking for (Scottish Borders, N.Yorks, Cumbria, Co. Durham)
A Club site or CL, we can't be to choosey this close to the weekend plus the schools are finished. One of our favourites is the CL: Riverside, Stonegarth, Millhouse Cumbria - somewhere like that would be great just a quiet place with simple clean facilities, not necessarily near a town.
Any ideas?
P.S. Anyone know of a camp site around Derwent Reservoir?

I have mentioned Gibraltar Farm on here loads of times for people who are looking for a basic site, but with lovely surroundings, it is a private site but I dont think its much more than a £10 per night. It is in Silverdale, Nr Carnforth off the M6. Its idillic, 1/2 mile from village, plenty of woods, caves, beach (with sinking sand) Morcambe Bay. Its worth a look at the web site.
Gibralter Farm - Looks spot on - I've put that in my favourites Shirley thanks for that - it appears to be just the type of site we are looking for. It may be a bit of a stretch for us this weekend though as it'll probably take us 3 hours on Friday afternoon. Been on their website though and we really fancy visiting it when we've a bit of a looser reign.
We have booked Serenity for next weekend, it is predominently adults so should be pretty quiet. It is sort of between Sandsend & Runswick Bay - Near Whitby.

another vote for gibraltor farm we stayed there last weekend and although it was very very busy we could not fault it. Clean friendly and well cared for all in all a lovely place!
Have a look at the C&CC site at Lauder... Basic, no children's play area, or anything like that but just a really peaceful site when we were there a couple of weeks ago
I forgot to mention it is 22 miles South of Edinburgh on the road that runs from Ponteland through Jedburgh. Took us about an hour and a half after leaving the A1 at Ponteland.

Beadnell Bay ! On the Northumberland coast - and hours drive from the borders - an hours drive from Newcastle and just over an hours drive to Cumbria and the lakes.
