Ok so im looking for the perfect site to attempt my fist ever trip out without hubby and with my mam its her first trip. There will be me, mam, son 15 and daughter 10 oh and my dog.

What i would like is

Dog welcoming

kids welcoming

I would like to be near somewhere with something to keep us amused that also allows dogs - anything will do walks, swimming, beach anything

Places we can get food and drink  made for us if need be which also allows dogs - takeaway will do, beer garden

We live in cumbria but prepared to travel I have looked on the campsite search but as you need to select the area you want its taking a long time to shift through them all

All help gratefully appreciated

thanks

Is Norfolk too far? Kelling Heath Holiday Park

dog friendly - heaths and miles of walks adjacent to the pitches, restaurants, bars, pizza take-away, entertainment during peak season every night, indoor swimming pool at a cost, outdoor swimming pool at no cost, beach a few miles away, own railway station, good shop on site. Travelling about 5/6 hours from Cumbria.

I hate the place because it's too big and too crowded, but we don't have kids or a dog. I'd say it's ideal for your kids, dog and mam.

Why leave Cumbria? We love the place.

Or just go on Filey Brigg http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=3770 if you're going to the east coast. It's on top of the Brigg, but it's a nice walk into town.

Alternatively.. a lot closer to home (whereabouts in Cumbria?!) is Hawes, http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=2599 no playground or anything, but plenty to do in and around Hawes, and so quick and easy to get to!

Have you thought about staying in Cumbria, just going to a different part? We often do that... no matter how close to home we are, we still feel a million miles away!

Hi, just a thought for another trip for you , propably on your doorstep .

Have you tried the Quiet Site , near Ullswater ?

Big adventure playground, and playing field. Dog exersing area, a shop, and a great olde-worlde pub on site too, ( which I would imagine does food, though not 100% sure )

Dave
