Anybody know of any sites within about 5 miles of Cleethorpes. Been in the site search and there's only a Haven, not our sort of site. Looking for small site, toilets and showers. Thanks Ray
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
cleethorpes is a bit sparse when it comes to campsites, but i can suggest Lincolnshire lanes (Manor farm). Its a bit further than 5 miles, but its easy to get to cleethorpes from there.
it is a small site in the countryside and very peaceful
If you're a member of C&CC they have a cs site at New Waltham which isn't very far away at all. It also has toilets, showers and EHU. I have never stayed there myself but often pass it on our way to hubbys mothers house. There's also a big tesco just down the road.
I wouldn't say that sites were sparse - if you're in the Caravan Club. There's 6 CLs (Certificated Locations) in the Caravan Club handbook under NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE (page 367). There's also what looks like a very basic site on the Front in Cleethorpes very close to the depot for the miniature railway (heading east go past the cinema, McDonalds, bowling alley on your right and it's first left then past the depot and it's in the field opposite 50 metres from the beach).
The problem is that Cleethorpes, in the Caravan Club handbook and perhaps other guides, is found under North East Lincolnshire and not under Cleethorpes!!!!
North East Lincolnshire = Grimsby and Cleethorpes
On the other hand North Lincolnshire is Sc**thorpe, Epworth, Brigg and Barton Upon Humber (page 368)
Cleethorpes isnt very nice anymore, or at least me and my other half dont think so. Used to be a great family resort a few years ago. A lot of the sites in this area are actually listed under south humberside.
Thats why I havn't visited as an adult ,I have really fond memories ,so prefere to remember it as the bright and sunny ,exciting and clean resort that it was!
there is alos a small CL site near the oaklands hotel.laceby.
being from waltham near cleethorpes, I would say go to scarborough or whitby-more to do.tattershall castle is nice or look toward Louth. very nice little town
