Hello

We are looking for sites around N Lancs/S Cumbria/N Yorks border. We have VW campervanss and want somewhere that isn't full of kids and entertainment (we can make that ourselves!)  Nothing too fussy and manicured...any ideas?

Sorry, reall didn't mean to post the same queestion twice, but I am desperate for an answer as we want to go this weekend!!

Hmmm, we have two kids so tend to go to family sites really. Have you looked at the Seacote Caravan Park in St Bees? I know people there use the Seacote Hotel at the other end of the seafront, but there is no entertainment on the actual site itself. It`s right on the seafront and you should be able to get in. It`s not quite S Cumbria tho.

There is also Fisherground at Eskdale but that is used by families and gets full fairly quickly in good weather.

Thanks for the info. We don't use EHU and those sites are just that bit too far for a quick weekend away with friends, but I'll bear them in mind for another time!

Have you looked at Gibralter Farm Silverdale Nr Carnforth, I dont know whereabouts you are in N Lancs, but this is a basic site, with woods, walks, 1 mile to village. Worth a look.

Is very nice, might have some kids on tho, try Condor farm in the same village, doubt that will have any kids on, and as you come in to Dent from the M6 a farmer lets folks camp on his land.

We ended up in Dent at Conder Farm and it was fantastic! Exactly what we were looking for; the most beuatiful views, not too busy (but the folks who were there were friendly) and the cooked breakfast in the farm was a bonus!

We will return....thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

Gallibar Park at Long Preston, Bronte Caravan Site at Keighly and Riverside Caravan Park at Pateley Bridge, Lower Wath, all can be viewed on this site and are excellent, have a gud do!!!
