We have stayed here & found it very handy for the zoo. It is only a short walk from cheshire oaks outlet centre & not far from the blue planet aquarium.

Hi, Wirral Country Park in Thursaston is a lovely campsite owned by CC. Only 20 mins to Chester Zoo. We are going on our second outing in caravan next weekend to Plassey in Wrexham but Wrexham is a little further out.

I dont think you can put tents on the CC site in Wirral Country Park but you can put a small number of tents on the CC site at Cheshire Oaks and it is just a 5 minute drive from the zoo, all sign posted as well.
There used to be a council run camp site not far from the CC site but I dont think its there anymore.
we have just been to greenacres farm deeside, its great for the kids and about 10mmin drive to chester zoo.

Hi Jane
Just been on the Church Farm website and it says strictly no tents. I think they used to take them but I saw a no tents sign there a few weeks ago when buying the veggies.
