We are off to Deers Glade,Norfolk for the first time on Monday.Having read the reviews i am going in a very positive mood. However there seems to be little detail in regard to the fishing lake. Can anyone give me any ideas please? I have a 10 and 5 year old excited at the thought so for once I dont think Dad will get much fishing time for himself.

Thnx 4 reply. After general info re Fish Stocks,Type, General Size, Comfort. Have to bring minimal amount of tackle due to large tent / Car space.

We were there in May, but the kids needed a licence to fish too,(ours are 15/13) because obviously if a water bailiff came round and they didn't have a licence it's a big fine. We decided not to chance it, which was a shame as we had brought fishing rods with us. (It rained most of the week too, which didn't help). If you want more info. e-mail them and they always reply.

You will have a great time there though, visit Sherringham if you're into ice cream, one shop had about 40 different flavours. The site itself is brilliant and can't praise the owners enough. Our friends (who are retired), came with us, they usually use caravan club sites, and they loved it so much, left their caravan there, they have been 3 times since May, and are back again in 2 weeks. I don't know if you need any more recommendation than that.

Have a great time.

We were there in May and the site is fantastic. My son who is 9 and I went fishing and although it was slow there are obvioulsy good fish to be had. In fact Jack fished most of the time we were there and because I could see him from the tent I was happy to leave him to fish on his own. I contacted Deers Glade before we went with the same questions you have asked. This was their reply " The lake is stocked with roach, tench, carp, perch, bream and rudd. The largest fish that went in when it was stocked were about 20lbs and then they go down to tiddlers! It was stocked with around 2000 fish about 3 years ago when it was created. The baits they are using are sweetcorn & maggots. The nearest tackle shop for bait would be either in Cromer or North Walsham both of which are about 5-6 miles away."

Hope this helps and have a great trip.
