Can anyone recommend a campsite in Northumberland? I'm looking for something quietish but maybe with a pub nearby. Easy access to (gentle) walking and beaches, and a good toilet block would be a bonus. I'd also prefer somewhere which was more tents than caravans, and not family orientated. Is this too much to ask?! Thanks

I went to a place just down from Bamburough Castle a number of years back.  Cant remember the name but was near a small village called Seahouses or maybe beadnell.  Pub just down the road, beach/dunes across the road.  Just looked on google but couldnt see it. Beadnell

or try typing beadnell camping into google.  Good luck.  (I remember it being really nice,Its a c&cc site so top class.  We used to use it as a base for sea canoeing.)

Even easier, just realised its on this site, click on campsite search, type beadnell bay and its the first one. Gonna try and make an effort to go back myself.  Thanks for the inspiration.

Have a look at the reviews for Highburn House in Wooler. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=2617

It is a 5 minute walk from the town.
