Hi. Does anyone know of a nice campsite in the north yorkshire area, that has play equipment or a play field and a dog walk, and that doesnt put tents close together. The last few we have been on have really made the most of the tent pitches and the tents have been practically touching, we I hate. Any recommendations? Thanks

Anywhere will do, we live in Teesside and just want something within a 2 hour drive, so we can have a few weekends away. Just been to a site in Masham near Bedale which wasnt very good, and was hoping someone could recommend another site. Will check out the one at Scarborough. many thanks xx

vale of pickering, vale of pickering, vale of pickering.
I practically grew up there as my grandparents had a tourer sited there all year, I was pratically there every weekend during the season.
Re-visited earlier this year (this time in a tent and the first time back in about 6 years) had a had a great time. Tents well spaced, flat pitches. Can get busy this time of year though, so would check you can book.
The facilities are quoted variuos places as being 'luxurious', I wouldn't go that far, but they are very clean with a good mix of showers and baths which are 20p.
Play area, football field (seperate field with grass cut short and two 5 a side goals). Don;t say how old yours are, but we wnet to 'honey farm' a few miles down the a170 towards scarborough and they have birds of prey a play area (for under 10's I'd say) and you can go round feeding the horses/goats etc etc.
This place at Settle is fantastic here lovely valley site with river running through it, good clean facilities and nice people who run it! It has all the things you are looking for.
