Hi. Does anyone know of a nice campsite in the north yorkshire area, that has play equipment or a play field and a dog walk, and that doesnt put tents close together. The last few we have been on have really made the most of the tent pitches and the tents have been practically touching, we I hate. Any recommendations? Thanks

stayed on a nice one in early July called Studfold farm,Lofthouse about 8 miles north of Pately Bridge nr Harrogate & Ripon. Only small (about 25 pitches) with Elec.hook up around the outside pitches. Quiet & spacious with brand new shower & toilets, very small shop, large field at rear for children to play.
Pub 5 mins walk in Lofthouse village, serves good food & beer garden. Good for walking & gorge on campsite doorstep,
Howgill Lodge, near Skipton , looks to be good, haven't been ourselves as yet , but have a weekend in august booked there , based purely on the good reviews we have read right here on UKCS.
Like r1ck I've got to recommend Wolds Way, it's an excellent site, ran by great people, with excellent views to wake up to every morning. Extremely clean showers/toilets and a shop that stocks alcohol (and more) as well as everyday essentials. Kids seemed to love the play area too. Just check out the reviews, you can't go far wrong with this site, we're hoping to visit again before the years out.

Black Bull at PIckering if you have a ehu pitch it`s huge, it has small hedges around marking out the pitch. Or if you don`t want ehu the tent area is large and I`ve never seen them cramed in.
Showers and toilets are older style but very clean. A dog walk and a playground and indoor games room. Also a football pitch. Next door is the Black Bull pub and across the road a nine hole golf course.
Can recommend Vale of Pickering (featured on UKCS) stayed there for our very first camping trip in May and thouroughly enjoyed it. Shower blocks for men and women were both kept very clean at a cost of 20p per shower, bath or use of hairdryer. Lots of little cubicles with sinks and mirrors in to get washed. Plenty of toilets. Shop on site very reasonable. Recycling bins for your rubbish. Great adventure playground for kids (General rule is no kids in till 8.30 am and to vacate by 10.30pm). Huge field for campers masses of space in the middle for games (football, badmington etc) Laundry room with freezer for your ice packs, ironing boards and irons, washers and dryers. Pot washing room with a sink set aside for washing fruits and veggies. Nice dog walking field just off site ( 2 min walk). Fantastic views all around.
