We are from Brigg in north lincs and are hoping to get away for the weekend in our caravan. As my other half has never towed before, we dont want to go more than an hours drive away. Any suggestions for a good site? We would like one with not a lot on it other than clean loos and showers, EH and a pub in walking distance!!! Short walking distance that is!!! Many thanks, Wendy n Mark

silver birches at barton on humber. not too far away for your first trip out. just up the road realy. very nice site and a pub 2 mins away serves good food too.
annielp, I was just about to suggest there myself. My parents have just come back this weekend and were saying how fantastic it was since it's been taken over, and there is also a discovery centre over the road, and it's free!
There is also the Brandy Wharf campsite... about 15 minutes away from Brigg (we are from Broughton). We went there a few weeks ago and it was fantastic.

What about the site down at Burringham near Sc**thorpe, on banks of trent? Never been but heard some really good reviews. O'h and there is the golf club at messingham they have a caravan site. Brandy Wharf looks absolutely brilliant tho' maybe basic but an evening on the 'falling down water' and you won't give a hoot!
Bainland country park at Woodhall Spa. I cant recomend it enough. Big pitches 99% with EHU & spotless modern facilitys. Read the reviews in the site search.
THUMPER.

We're going to Jubilee Park at Woodhall this weekend. Supposed to be very basic but the pool makes up for it. There is a large group of us going so i'll let you know!
Hi - quite a lot of us from North Lincolnshire on this site! I've heard very good reports about Bainlands in Woodhall Spa too. Do a web search and you'll see some pics etc - they even have a small indoor swimming pool!
Hi guys
We live not far from Woodhall Spa. Would really recommend a visit to the Kinema in the Woods and the pub in the centre of the town (near the mini roundabout) does great fish and chips!! I also do a lot of work at the Petwood Hotel which is great for a lovely walk around the grounds, steeped in history (Dambusters etc) and great for a posh coffee!!

I would reccommend Bainland or Skeness water leisure park this one I was most surprised by because I had visions of units being shoulder to shoulder on a busy bank holiday but how wrong I was. They are most particular about sticking to the right ammount of space between pitches and the place was a pleasure to visit.
Many thanks to all of you for your advise! O.H. has now decide to brave it, we are off to Pateley Bridge nr Harrogate!!! Dont know if any of you have tried this site or not but we have been a few times and think it is fantastic. If you like a peaceful site within walking distance to a couple of pubs, nice village and plenty of places of interest to drive out to then this is the one for you!!
