Hello,
I wonder if any of you can help me. I am looking for a campsite in Keswick that will allow a small group. I have been trying to find one but they all seem to say they don't accept groups. We're all 27 and over and aren't a group of giggling teenagers!
It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction.

The campsite search? Yes but there is no facility for searching for one which accepts groups. I had a look through the Keswick sites but couldn't find one, I just thought someone may be able to help.

There is a campsite in Stonethwaite at the bottom of Derwent Water that takes groups, reviews on the site guide.

A group of us have just come back from the C&CC Windermere site (which is nearer Keswick) and there was other groups on site at same time.

Herdwick Croft at the top of Bassenthwaite probably does but apparently it's a bit sloping for tents and the facilities are away from the tent area. Why is this on so many sites I wonder - shouldn't the loos be near the tents, it's not so important for caravans with their own facilities.

If you are well behaved like you say then try doing what we have done before, find a site that has 'free' camping, ie no set pitches, make your bookings individually then when you get there just pitch together, we found as long as we didn't draw attention to ourselves we were fine and we've done this about three times now.

Castle rigg Hall has a field behind the main house and buildings that I know has been used for camping - might be a group field.
Worth enquiring but as with all male, female parties sites are reluctant to take them.
