Don't know which area you're interested in, but we've just stayed at Beadnell Bay, Northumberland. Basic facilities there, but to one side (literally just across the road) is the beach, and to the other the Cheviot hills. Surrounded by fields. Beadnell village itself is lovely with a couple of good pubs and another lovely beach and harbour. The rest of Northumberland is one big view! Another site in Northumberland to consider if you prefer more facilities is Waren, near Bamburgh.

I was thinking the same twooks, when I read the title! we stayed at Gairloch and it was georgeous, the view of the sea and beach below was stunning.and we had brill weather too, which always makes the sea views better.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I agree with Janx.......Longnor Wood, based just outside Longnor in the Peak District is a good site, with good views. Went there last summer. Good basic facilities, and very friendly and helpful owners.
