Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good camp site in the Colchester region. We have a 3 year old (well behaved) daughter, and our only real request is clean toilets and showers. I have tried a search but with not much luck. Any suggestions would be greatly received! Thanks, dodoharv

I'd return your offer and let you pitch the Monty in my garden (I live in Colchester) but you'd be hard pressed to put up even the smallest tent on my little patch of grass! We walked through Waldegraves at Mersea Island (approx 9 miles from Colchester) last year and it looked very nice but have never stayed there
The only campsite in Colchester that I am aware of is very close to the A12 so I would guess it's very noisy.

Hi dodoharv ...... we have been to Waldegrave it's about 8/10 miles from Colchester.
We really liked it there and defo going back ....... maybe tomorrow

Well worth a visit to Waldegraves. Nice size pitches, playground, swimming pool and bar. Toilets and showers spotless..... Slighty pricey but with all of the above acceptable.
