If you need EHU then I reckon you'll need to phone around anyway just to get a pitch as late as this as Devon and Cornwall sites are really, really full during the school hols. So, find a pitch first then ask about the van.
If you don't need EHU then you might have more chance of getting a pitch as some sites open up overflow fields for the school hol period although these are then obviously further from the facilities such as pool, shop etc. but sometimes have portaloos in them, sometimes not.
You'd perhaps be better off trying to find a smaller, family run site rather than a commercial one when you're more likely to speak to someone on the phone who can discuss your situation with you and hopefully see reason and be sympathethic whereas if you try a big commercial site the staff aren't always very interested in anything that doesn't "fit the criteria" and haven't the authority to make decisions that are "outside the box".
