I'm going to the Cold War Jets open day at Bruntingthorpe (Leicestershire) on August Bank Holiday Sunday - being local it's not too bad a drive but I've often wondered about camping nearby and spending a lazy weekend whilst I'm at it.

I've seen a couple of sites within about 1/2 hours drive - but I may as well drive home then,  I just wanted to try and get another couple of nights under canvas this summer!

Can anyone recommend a site, doesn't need luxuries just a decent loo, a tap and level pitches - I can bring my own alcohol and food!

I don't think it should do that!

Leicestershire is not very well endowed with campsites and I'm not sure where Bruntingthorpe is - have you tried the listings here?

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.

Hi,

Bruntingthorpe is near the town of Market Harborough.  If you check the listings there are two sites under Market Harborough.  I have not been to either though.

Hope this helps....

Thanks but they were the two sites I'd already looked at - both are the same distance further east as it would be to drive home afterwards (if you catch my drift).

Was hoping someone might know of a small site that doesn't list here - I'm not a C&C club member so can't use CL's either.
