We were there last week, and i was worried about not booking but there was loads of room! We dived on the first three pitches we found together, but in hindsight i'd have rather been through to the other field, on the way to the golf course, as it was quieter there and there was much more room. As it was we were on the way to and from the park for everyone, and the noise from the oiks at throwing out time was a pain in the butt!

Have fun, we always do, but don't expect the peace and quiet of a 'normal' campsite! The toilets were spotless most of the time, and the shower i used was lovely and hot! One tip......go in the shower room, press the button and see how hot/how long it stays on before you commit to staying there and getting wet! And stay away from cliffhanger......I love scary rides but that thing is EVIL!!!!

Haven't stayed there in a tourer or tent, but stayed in one of their statics at Easter - kids thoroughly enjoyed it.  I agree with Burty though - Cliffhanger is a no no for me.  The rollercoaster Kumali was superb, as is Velocity (you sit on a 'motorbike') though the queue takes a while.

Evening entertainment venues were OK, but very very busy (get there really early to get a seat) and full of smoke.

Had a look at the touring park while we were there, and though busy there were spaces.  Quite a noisy site.

If you want something doing, ask a busy person.

Has anyone been there in a LARGE tent without booking and found space? Our XXL is 7.85mL x 7mW

Are the pitches with EHU as well or can you book for them?

There are hook ups for everyone in the main field, then hook ups for some in the big field near the golf course, all on the left as you go through the gate. Our tent is large....(see my fuming Hendre Mynach thread.) but we had no bother. No one asks, no one checks and no one really bothers! You have a hard standing patch, then the grass next to it. Our tents fitted on easily, both last year with a three pod 'triangle' design and this time with a very long 'caravan' shape. You may have to think about how you pitch if you stay on the front site though. I'd go into the far field and grab a hook up if i were you!

Have just extracted the wristband off my 5 year old son, had to promise we'd go back again next year to do it though!

(Please Lord, either teach me to spell or tell all forums to put an 'edit' button on...)

Thanks for that Burty. As it would take us a few hours to get there, we are a bit worried in case they would be full by early/mid afternoon and we would be unable to find a pitch, especially in July/August. Has anyone ever known this happen or are there always plenty of pitches? Maybe there is a better day to arrive than others?

Once you pay for your family ticket, is that vaild for the whole of your visit, no matter how long you stay?

I would be grateful if anyone could let me know about those things. Thanks.
