Hi I would like find a campsite in Norfolk which would be good for doing a couple of cycle trips from. It doesn't have to be on cycle tracks, quiet roads would be fine. Has anyone any suggestions (I don't know the area at all having only visited E.Anglia about 2 times in the last 20 years and one of those was a school field trip.

For once we will be without the children so we don't need playground or that type of stuff... in fact a nice quiet site would be lovely, shop would be nice, pub nearby too would be good. Any suggestions?

(We'll be arriving by car... can't quite see us fitting a Monty 6 in panniers somehow.)

Have a look at Applewood at Banham - http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2926

The area has nice country lanes for cycling and nice villages around like Old & New Buckingham to visit. There is a shop and pub on site and nice pubs around for a lunchtime break whilst cycling.

Try Pentney Lakes near Kings Lynn. Has large lakes to cycle round and is set off the main road which leaves good country lanes to cycle on. Swaffham being about 8 miles by cycle, which is a good market town.

Heres a couple for you to try

This one is near Aylsham so you are hallf way between Norwich and the coast. It is set of the A140 about 1 1/2 miles away and to reach it you need to go a track, which is no problem for cars.

This is about six miles out of Norwich set in woodland and is on a former RAF base very quite site
