Hi

We've just come back from Woodhouse Farm near Ripon.

It's got a pub and small shop onsite. It's about 10mins from Ripon and not far to Harrogate.

It's got a fishing lake, not sure what it's like but check on the site search for more details.

I can recommend the campsite - friendly people and new, clean toilet block.

Lyndsay

What kind of fishing? Daily easy 'pull some little ones out' or something different?

Willow House in York ( 3 miles from the centre)

It has a small fishing lake,  24 Hr Tesco a mile away, pubs in nearby Haxby (about a mile walk along the back path) - I recommend The Cottage.

Plus the site is very reasonable rates.

Yes, Willow House is good.......if you cant get in there try Lakeside Caravan Park at Bielby between York and Beverly. (See UK Campsite listings) Its a very keen fishing site with an extremely well stocked lake and shopping can be done in Beverly, Market Weighton, Pocklington or York for the Ladies.

Good Luck

Try the C&CC Boroughbridge site in Yorkshire, not far from you, has fishing on site and near town centre.

I live in Retford, not quite in Yorkshire but only by a couple of miles. Its a lovely market town (see write ups for trentfield farm rallies). This is a cracking fishing site that also does caravans. Not sure how far up Yorkshire you are but if not to far would fit your requirements well.

Retford town centre is 5 mins drive away is pretty good for shopping. Is a market town but has no big debenhams type shops. There are your usual Dorothy Perkins Anne wilkinsons and a couple of designer shops. The shopping centre also has many pubs around for lunch, be it alcoholic or not . If they want bigger and dont mind using the train there is a direct link to Lincoln or Meadowhall. There is also a outlet village just outside doncaster called Lakeside. Thats about a 30 minute drive. Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping Centre

Shame its the bank holiday weekend you coming or i would have had a walk across to meet you, i live 30 secs walk from the bottom entrance near where you pitch, I dont think you will be dissapointed with the fishing, its where they staged the 2nd Fishomania. Have put in a link to give you some info on the town. Retford : FactFile
