Back from our summer hols and thinking about next year! Has anyone been to freshwater east CC site in pembrokeshire? The guide says that it is minutes from the beach, is this true walking or driving? Can you surf on this beach? What is the site like?
Many thanks, Michele

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Yes it is minutes from the beach, walking. Great beach for walking on, the tide goes out quite far. Don't know about the surfing.
The site is on 2 levels, pitches pretty flat, some grass some hardstanding. One toilet block with the usual CC facilities, very clean. There are reviews on here.
Love this campsite , we went there many times when we were children . It's so close to the beach & sand dunes , children can go off on there own without having to worry .
I don't think it's even minutes from the beach - ok perhaps a 2 minute stroll then! No surfing waves when I was there though. Site is lovely, but not alot for kids other than a small play area.

The entrance of the site is very close to the beach. This is a fairly large site and some of the pitches are some distance from the entrance. The walk to the sea from the furthest pitches is about 5 minutes but while we were there in July we saw quite a few people who obviously thought that was too far and they drove to the pay-and-display car park opposite the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach and some elderly dogs may not be up to walking that far. If you don't like dogs this site might not be for you.
For surfing you are better off going to the CC Lleithri Meadow site which is very close to Whitesands beach, St Davids. The surfing there is excellent.

Thanks, can you walk to the beach from that one? When I say surfing - just body boarding!
