Hello to all, its my hubby's 40th birthday next may and I am trying to find a site that will allow a bit more noise than usual, we are not a rowdy bunch normally but with it being his birthday we are looking for somewhere that will take 3-4 pitches of us for a birthday weekend celebration, we live in Chester and want somewhere within an 1-2hrs drive away.It will not be during the school holidays as we want to disturb as few people as possible. Any hints on sites that you know about would be appreciated.

Gill

hi i think you may have to phone around some of the sites  and ask. Most have a no noise rule afterr 11pm if you phone and ask then they may be able too put you in a dip or behind some trees bushes etc to try to cut down the noise .the only other option is to find a site that has a pub near it out in the country that the landlord is willing to stay open late and party until late there

Could you start the party earlier in the day and then make sure you finish celebrating at a reasonable time?

Hiya Gill

One thought – are any of you interested in motorbikes?

The reason I ask is that there’s a fantastic bike show/rally every year in May in Peterborough. See www.bmf.co.uk.

Running alongside is the Memba Rally with camping for 5,000.  This has a really good party atmosphere – there are live bands (very rock oriented) on the Fri/Sat nights alongside the show on the Sat/Sun.  They have bars and food stands (Chinese, Indian, Mexican, pasties, baguettes, burgers, donuts, etc, etc).  And a fantastic breakfast tent where you can even get chips with brekkie (they also do food throughout the day).

Its nowhere near as wild as the Bulldog Bash – but you can definitely party.

The facilities are obviously limited to just portaloos and portashowers – no EHU!

They have a section for motorhomes as well as tents.  We typically see loads of people arriving on bikes with a friend arriving in a transit with all the gear!

There’s plenty to see/do over the weekend with stunt riders and races in the arena and hundreds of trade stands.  Plus you get to sit on all the sexy new bikes.

Bikes wow, hubby follows world super gp's ect ect but really not want to travel that far as  can only get away for two days, would of been ideal but we all use electric hook ups as well. Thanks cookiemonster nice idea.

teepee, yet another good idea but hubby and his mates can drink all day and night....not saying they are alchoholics or anything but they rarely get a chance for a good get together so when they have an excuse to light the candal at both ends they do it forever....

andy cheers for that i will get ringing when my phone is functioning again...long story, been with talk talk for two months and only 4wks of that time has my phone been functioning!

Thanks to all keep the ideas coming in..

Gill

Try Consiton Old Hall. Its right on the lake and is like a refugee camp. There are no noise rules so you will probably be alright to about 3am. Yes , you guessed it, I've had a bad experience there.!!!!

Walker Family

We offer such facilties most weekends -

Marquee with special effect lighting, cd based sound system, remote PA system and smoke - outside you have your own area of the site according to units pitched and your own real log camp fire.

You pay standard pitch rates plus £100 for the marquee including sound and light systems.

We tend to be booked well in advance so give me a call to discuss or email through this site.
