Hi

Going camping near Scarborough next week and been looking at Kinderland, has anyone been? The kid's age range is 5-11 year olds.

Thanks

Lyndsay

Kinderland is fab for kids.  Make the most of it, because it's closing for good at the end of the season.  The whole of the North Bay/Peasholm area is being re-developed and Kinderland is one of the casualties  There's also the miniature train next to Kinderland, and the outdoor pool with the big slides, so there's plenty to keep the kids happy.

Have fun

Kinderland is nice we go to Scarborough often, my mum lives there.
theres a park opposite kinderland called Peasholme park and thats nice too, with boats etc.... take some nuts walk round the water and your kids can feed the squirrels, I prefer north side its a lot quieter, theres also Atlantis which is the outdoor swimming pool with slides etc....
Kinderland has rip cords loads of things for them to ride on and I remeber going down the big slide with my kids, it also has a boat that goes down a big slide then splashes into a lake, loads of fun!!!

have fun its a nice place!!

the walk round Marine Drive is nice looks really long the open top buses charge £1.50 [er adult and 75p per child you can walk it in approx 25 mins and its a lovely walk, you get to the south side before you know it.

Saturday afternoon in the summer they reenact great naval battles with model ships in the park - fabulous! Kinderland highly recommended too. Loved Scarborough last year and so did the kids.

I went to kinderland a couple of years ago with my grandson then 6 he loved it but seemed to be nearly at the top end of the playing age range there were a few things for older kids but not much

we went in the afternoon it was cheaper after a certain time ( and the time there  time was ample enough

we also enjoyed peashome park where we went on the large peddle boats round the lake

just a bit further up the road is the sea life center

Kinderland is definately worth a visit for the younger kids. There are no fast and scary rides, unless you count a water splash, basically lots of slides, swings, climbing frames and trampolines. There's a large indoor soft play area too. We certainly thought it was value for money.

Peasholm Park, just across the road, is worth a visit. My little one is totally into all things wildlife and spent a couple of hours there on Monday feeding squirrels and catching butterflies. Just a small word of adsvice - if you're not interested in the naval battle (which I think they run on a Sat and Mon) they do close off alot of the park from about 1pm onwards - just to ensure that those watching have paid.

Have a good trip.

Kids will love Kinderland.  Anybody else should make the most of it before it shuts for good this September (site being turned into luxury apartmnets ive heard).  Couple of tips:-

1. Take some food for a picnic.  Food is not brill for price and there are so many places to picnic.

2. Parking at North end can be a pain.  There is a road directly opposite the entrance to kinderland.  if you turn there and follow the road up to the left, you can park unrestricted and for free (beetr than a fiver on the car parks)

Also remember to visit the Harbour Bar ice cream parlour in the South Bay for a "mega" cone and the Oasis Cafe on North Bay front.  Tiny little "shack" but do a lovely hot chocolate and delicious fresh fish in batter. YUM YUM!

I will second the Oasis, Do'nt go to cafe Del Mar its a right rip off!!! Oasis is just a bit further down and you get lots more for your money anfd its better quality.

I mentioned the prices of cafe del mar to the oasis owner the other week and he said yeah I know he thinks hes the only cafe round here and that people wont travel!!! HOW Wrong!!!
