Par sands also allow Dogs, we had a peep in there last week when we were there & had some lovely fish & chips on the beach bought from Trywardreath. I've never stayed there but Julie, my OH has many times & loves the place.

my sister has just come back from Harlyn Sands. The site was ok,but they were literally a gate away from tent to a fab beach.

As for scotland - we go every year at the end of September - no midges!!

Just read back up through the thread.  Basilbrush is recommending Pentewan.  There have been adverse reports about the site from people who had previously been it's devotees. Things sound to have deterioirated there and I would hate for this site (UKCS) to have failed to tell the latest reports on sites.

I didn't recommend it, The question was asked for sites near Mevagissey, I replied that if the questioner wanted a beach then Pentewan was the only choice. The beach there is held for camp residents only now & they have a card controled barrier. I also said they don't take dogs.

I wouldn't sing its praises nowadays because, in my humble opinion, the place has deteriated and sadly it's been allowed to become a little run down & needs a good tidy up to justify its charges.

She says site is lovely and toilets/showers are spotless.
