Where does everyone go for winter touring and what do you do, maybe sit in van with heater going full blast, no i can't see people doing that, so what do YOU do...?

Put a coat on and go out????

I enjoy going out in the winter just as much as the summer. The pitches are cheaper, less people around.  I've enjoyed sites in the winter months that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole in summer.

During the evening we probably spent more time in the van, but during the day it's whatever you'd normally fancy doing, but generally not in T-shirts and shorts.  

We go to UKCS meets during the winter as well We've been to some really lovely sites

There's nothing like waking up to the whole field been covered in frost. Last year I think one night was -4

Had 2 jumpers and thermals on next day. We had Trailer Tent then as well.

We're planning to go off New Year as well. Breaks thee monotiny of just going to the pub

Hi . last winter (near xmas) we went to chatsworth for the day to visit our friends who were staying there & could have kicked our selves for not taking van ( little old thing that wasnt really set up for winter vanning )  it was sooooo magical  it was really frosty  & white over but the sun was out ,  and walking around the grounds & house was spectacular !! one of the best days out we have had in 2 yrs vanning.!!!    we will be definitley returning this winter.  Then in early march we went to Bainland at woodall spa lincolnshire and that was just as good (we took van this time ) loads of fleeses, wollies & duvets ,hats, gloves ect  & had some beautiful walks  then back to the van with heating on & a red hot cup of coffee  , to be honest i personally loveeeeeeeeeee winter caravaning , our neighbours think we are mad when they see van all hitched up to go in the middle of winter ,  !! we are at sherwood for new year & are looking for somewhere for xmas  yippeeeeeee

Try a 'City Break' Believe it or not, quite a fair proportion of the major GB towns and cities all have nearby camp sites/ caravan parks and some are actually within the town itself or within easy walking distance. (Bristol, London, Birmingham & Telford for instance) Most of the big town or city sites are open all year and we've spent great times in Jan and Feb seeing a big show or visiting places that we would never consider doing so in the summer months.

Hubby now wants to go away for that dull period between Xmas and New year. Am with him 100% on this and as it's usually down to me to do the booking up, I shall probably be picking a town or city that has a large shopping centre/complex close to hand, just in case the weather is bad or very cold you underdstand!!
