I have been over the pass. You will not be able to tke your van over it,There is a big sign when approaching the pass saying no to certaain vehicles, and anyone with a nervous disposition do not attempt, there is no going back if you dont like it,talk about going up in the clouds, there are a couple of hair pin bends as you get near top.I was near to tears by the time we got to top,But people do what they want to do,but if they decide to go to Applecross this way i advise plenty of toilet roll. Please i wouldnt attempt it,go into Applecross the other road,if the other road had not been there i dont know how i would ever have got out,i suppose i could have hired a boat.Margie

hi, we stay near Applecross every year in a holiday cottage and have done the "pass of the cattle" road many times.
I would not recommend you doing this road in your van, there is another way in to Applecross, which, if it were me - I would do!
the road is twisty, most parts are single track and hairpin bends....there is a warning sign at the bottom advising not suitable for learner drivers/lorries etc - but i cant remember if it said anything about vans/camper vans .
The views are spectacular from the top, unbelievable - like you are on top of the world!.....a definate "must do" whilst in Wester Ross......Torridon is also very nice.
If some one has gone up their in their van - im sure they will tell you, if you are of nervous disposition or scared of heights - go the other way around!
