Hi all

I am planning to go away with friends in September and we are looking for campsites within the Gloucester or Hampshire area (or even within approx. 100 mile radius of Oxfordshire) which would have the following:

1. Horse riding facilities on site or nearby

2. Allow dogs

3. Have good facilities - especially hard standing pitches

Would really appreciate your help.  Many thanks

S

Thanks so much for helping.  I've checked out the website of Fforest Fields and it looks great - although it may be a little too far for us in September as we are only going for 3 nights with a couple who haven't been camping before and they are hiring a motorhome for the first time.  I think the ideal travelling time would be no more than 2 hours and on the route finder this campsite seems to be approx. 3 hours at 120 miles.  Although this is definitely one I will make a note of to go next spring/summer as it looks perfect - thanks again.

We have also been to Sandy Balls - 3 times; our first time in a static caravan, second time in a tent and the last time was in a lodge.  Each time we went was good but being a couple with dogs and no children, it probably made a difference to how we enjoyed it without having to worry about the facilities for children - we just had to keep ourselves amused!!!  It's a shame as I've read some concerns about Sandy Balls lately - after a caravan was stolen from the site and now this.  It's such a shame, although I guess it could happen wherever you go.

Thanks again for your help and I hope there will be some more ideas coming....!?!

S
