We also had a great time when we visited. Pity it was so far away for us as there was loads in the somerset area we didn't get to see. Would definately go back.

Just had a wee look at the reviews for Warren Farm.  Has anyone been ther recently?  I am thinking of going in July - camping, someone of you mentioned the wind, is it really windy?? Was also looking for some more info regarding the surrounding area as we like to go out and about with the kids especially if the weather isnt great!!!

Any nice pubs/restaurants nearby? 

Any information would be appreciated, thanks

PS. Know of anywer that would hire a fridge aswell??

Don't know what happened there - posted when I clicked 'quote'....anyway they certainly allowed me to camp there on my own when I went there, year before last I think. I had booked for the main site but when I got there I asked if I could go on their quieter site (Sunnyside). No problems at all, they just transferred me.

Could it be age related do you think?

Brean consists of a very long coastal road. On one side over the dunes is the beach and on the other side are nothing but campsites. Warren Farm is just one of them., Northam Farm is another.

As stated, I went to Warren farm year before last and Northam farm last year. They are all flat sites and quite large and commercialised. Both Warren and Northam have fishing lakes and they cater for families and children. There is a large fairground, bars/restaurants/takeaways/fish and chips and clubs, so pretty much like any seaside resort really.

As somebody has mentioned...you are unlikely to see the sea, although it must come in some time! Brean sands is a wide expanse of beach which starts off just under the sandhills with nice soft sand but then quickly flattens out into a large width of flat hard sand. Beyond that it becomes dangerous mud and quicksands into which many people have ventured to their regret. There are warning signs every few yards so no danger for those that can read!

Vehicles are allowed along the beach on the hard sand. These don't normally interfere with families playing or sitting below the sandhills. It is not always windy, in fact the first time I went it was unbearably hot, and the second time it was comfortable although Brean is renowned for being windy and the beach is at times used for wind sports.

There isn't a great deal to see at Brean itself although you can walk literally for miles and climb Brean Down which has a fort at the top. There is also a cafe and a small exotic bird aviary...mostly parrots.

Burnham on Sea is a short drive (or a long walk) along the coastal road. I didn't go there but it is supposed to be quite a nice resort and Weston Supermare is in the other direction. It's not far (about 12 miles) to Cheddar Gorge, also Wookie Hole, Glastonbury etc; so there is plenty to do in the area.

We went to Warren Farm with 2 teenagers - never to be repeated, great if you have children of play park age as they are well catered for but my girls were bored and just argued. Later on in the year we went to Haven in Burnham on Sea, I know a lot of people don't like Haven sites but with teenage daughters there was plenty there for them to do and even more if you had little ones.

Quite honestly would never go back to Warren Farm again unless on an organised meet, nothing wrong with the site except there was not enough to do for the girls.
