hi all we,re thinking about going away at xmas in our van we have 2 boys aged 6 and 11 so does anyone know where is good to go for children at this time of year cheers

I dont know of anywhere, but it can be hard to find good sites after october, especially for kids, i will be keeping an eye on this for my lot. I cant convince the OH to go away for Xmas this year, only just managed to get new year

cannot make a personal recommendation but we are looking at this ourselves. If you go to advance search then put in an area that may be suitable then you have an option on the next screen to put in a filter for, amongst many other things, sites that are open all year round. I was recommended one not to far from you, will look up tonight when i have more time. GL and keep us posted if you find anywhere.

we went to the vale of pickering last year for new year, lovely site so that might be worth a look. only an hour or so from you too.

We have just found a site at Ullskelf nr York and they are open at Christmas, they have a bar on site but no food and not much for the kids other than a slide.

I have to say, we have done this a few times but have no children. Don't think I would have done it when the kids were little, too many toys for a caravan and if the weather is bad, too small a space for the inevitable arguments between the kids.

Hi
When my kids were younger I was with the CC for about 12 years and went away on there rallies for xmass and new year.
On xmass morning you would see all the kids out with there presents prams, bikes etc ,( for xmass day dinner every one went to a hotel ) also they had socials entertainment with food ( you only needed to have breakfast in your van ) and father xmass would vist. worth every penny . you did your caravan up , we were lucky enought sometimes to have snow ( heaven ) .
I am sure the C&CC must do the same thing.
