can someone please help me??! is it common to have baby nappy changing facilities in the male washrooms on a camp site. i ask because i am planing to take my 3 year old away with me, but not my wife. i dont mind changing wet nappies in our tent but dont want to stink it out with his poopy ones and so a baby changing unit would be required really!
many thanks.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother. When you are out in the fresh air, foul smells don't linger long so even changing a poohy nappy in the tent wouldn't smell for long so long as you disposed of the nappy as soon as. Alternatively, if it isn't raining, go outside and do it on the grass. Seems more hassle than its worth to cart all your nappy stuff over to the washrooms when all you need is a few wipes and a nappy sack.
I've actually noticed very few ladies toilets with changing facilities when on camp sites so having them in the mens is even more unlikely. I just change my daughter in the van and use nappy sacks for smelly nappies - smell doesn't seem to linger.

Warren Farm had big butler style sinks to use as baby baths with fold down babychangers and blue roll to cover them with. My wife was extremely impressed with the baby facilities, they had them in the mens too, but i didnt tell the wife lol!
Some sites I have been to, have a parent and child room with changing unit, so either parent can use. Best idea if you ask me, why shouldnt men change them!!! I do know when my hubby went with his work colleagues (all male) and the children, one campsite did kick up cos they didnt have any disabled/seperate facilities and there was one 3 year old girl going. Her parents didnt mind if she had to go in the mens, as she did this in public loos with her dad, but the campsite wouldnt allow them to stay.
We have camped with our DS since he was 6 months and usually changed him in the tent.
My Sis used a laundry room - with a big bench - as a nappy change, but after a couple of changes, just hid behind the windbreak - any smelly was blown away and the little one liked the grass tickling his bum !

Always changed our kids' nappies in the tent. Much safer on the floor anyhow. Never liked those changing things that were fixed onto walls. I was always of the opinion that the quicker I changed a nappy the easier it was to do (without going into graphic detail) so a quick lie down in the tent would be my choice every time rather than she waddle in it across to the loo block - which could be some distance away.
Just one request - please flush any poo down the loo before you dispose of the nappy - please don't wrap it in the nappy and stick it in a bin - that way people don't have to live with the smell until the bins are emptied - and you won't be putting raw sewage into landfill.
