We really Like River Dart Adventures, near Ashburton in Devon. It has a shallow pirate lake where children can muck about in inflatable boats, lots of adventure playground equipment (big slides, giant scramble nets, zip wires etc), plus things like canoeing which you can pay extra for.
However, we're getting really predicatable about going back to the same place every year so were wondering if we're missing out on other similar places elsewhere. Places in Wales or the midlands would be ideal, but recommendations anywhere would be great!
We have 2 boys aged 9 & 7 and a baby due in December.

Hello Greyspeckledhen. Welcome to UKCS. 'Fraid I can't help you though I'd be interested in sites similar to River Dart so will watch and see if anyone comes up trumps. I think this question has been asked before without any joy - but no harm in trying again.
Hi, I would be interested too. Just got back from the riverdart - 2 wonderful weeks . Been there 3 times now over 10 years and it has improved everytime.
Just read the other 'River Dart' threads and am surprised how negative some of the comments are.
I agree that spending a bit of money on the site wouldn't go amiss, but the facilities for children are excellent and I'd hate for them to over spend and turn it into an over-commercialised site. Our children have such a fantastic time there every year, and the fact that we don't have to pay out for day trips makes it really economical holiday.
I'm also amazed that there don't seem to be other similar places around the country (unless everyone who has discovered them is keeping very quiet of course!) - somebody must have a recommendation!

try wickstead park in northamptonshire, I've not been but the advert in the newspaper caught my eye, they claim to have the largest free adventure playground in uk.
there are some reviews on here - it only has a tap and toilets, no showers and no ehu. Could be good for a w/e tho & its only a tenner a night. My kids have looked at the website & told me its top of their list of places to visit now.
