Hello Again

I can assure you that I would certainly never allow a team member to do what you are inferring. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, good or bad. Sometimes we get it wrong, granted, but on the whole the vast majority of visitors have a great time. We have had near 5000 families visit our park this year, and our ratio of complaints to guests sits around 0.7%. That means we have upset around 35 families enough for them to write into us, which is still 35 too many, but all the same, a very low ratio. Of course there will be those who choose not to write in, and this forum, i believe is a good opportunity for us to further improve.

I look to these forums as ways of improving the services we offer to our guests, and have until recently viewed them with the respect and vaildity that they deserve. When the comments are constructive, we certainly take more notice of them.

I have asked the other managers to join the forum, so they can see what their guests think. If all they see are jokes and jibes, I dont believe you comments, however valid in the first place, will be acted upon as much, ultimately for the benefit of all future guests.

At the end of the day, this is your forum, so I guess you can say whatever you like, it would be a shame if this forum was not used as a tool for us to improve.

Sincerely

Rob

Hi,

I have just tried to read the reviews for this site, I couldn't find any.....there also isn't any for 3 other Park Resort sites I searched for..and I know there was definately reviews for Sandy Bay in Northumberland. I don't think I have been looking in the wrong place.
Has someone pulled the plug on them??

I know they have taken a bit of a bashing in the past couple of months, and in some cases rightly so, I have a friend who works for them and have introduced her and her family to camping this year, and she has had her eyes open to the state of their parks, she used to regularly book herself in around the country for weekends away on one of their parks, now she won't even think about booking their parks anymore.

I am sure they have got some nice parks somewhere, but they just seem to be letting most of them go to the dogs.

I too found all the reviews removed for 'Park Resorts' sites.  Webby said that they would be reinstated at some point, but something needed to be done first.

I havn't been to this site since it was called 'Martello Beach'.  I went last year when it was called 'Tower' and my experiences were less than good.  In-fact, we left 2 days early, which is the first time we have ever done that from any campsite.  I am hoping things have changed a bit this year.  I did leave a review of the site last year which I though was a very fair review, but it didn't get published.

Park Resorts are very varied in their site quality.  We have been using them for quite some time and have generally had good experiences.

Hi Rob and any other managers out there.

Hope that some of our comments our helpful and that you are able to improve your parks. Maybe some of you should take up camping and try staying at places like Martello and Kessingland and that may help you to understand why we aren't impressed.I know you can't avoid problems that other guests cause but as I have said before if you are going to offer pitches for touring you should offer limited pitches at Martello because the facilities you offer can't cope with the amount of people staying.Maybe when companies like Park Rsorts take over sites they could make improvements to toilet blocks before they let too many people in then there wouldn't be half as many complaints??

Regards  Emma

Guys am i being out of order?

Last monday we had booked to go to Martello Beach in Jaywick Clacton. We arrived at 1pm and weather was a bit overcast not changing much winds okish to set a tent up, just before tieing it down there was sudden thunder lightning very strong winds which took the tent, snapping 3 telescopic rods and tearing a 2 foot hole in the roof, we chucked it in the car until it cleared, we made our way to reception where a young girl behind the counter basically couldnt give a monkeys told us there was a shop in town that sold rods etc so we went, when we got there there was a sign on the door saying closed for Bankholiday, we went back and informed them and was told ! arrrr i thought it was! then we asked if there were any spare vans available to have until the shop opened tomorrow but unfortunately nothing. I asked if a refund was possible as we were only there 2 hours and asked for a caravan but told to fill in a form and thats all they can do she continued texting her friend on her mobile. Now i just got this email back from them

In reply to your email of the 31st August 2006.  I was sorry to read that you had to remove home due to the strong winds snapping rods but unfortunately we are unable to offer any refund in this instance as this would come under 100% forfeit.

Regards Maureen Administration Department

what do you think? I was expecting maybe a few days in low season or half price or even a small voucher? Really cant believe them... When we got there, there wasn't even 12 tents in a space for 45!

Stuio,

I can understand your frustration but i don't think its the sites fault about weather or broken poles.  I do think the young girl could have been a little more customer focused in terms of empathy though, however, was she also busy dancing around her handbag?

Isn't that why its also called "Clacton On Flee"

Mick

Head down only a joke ladies and everyone from Clacton

we went to martello last may.
ok the weather was horrendous but the attitude of the staff was much worse!
i even put in a complaint and got absolutely nowhere. it appears that all the staff stick together and you are just a lowly camper.

it could be a lovely site but i think it seriously needs a reshuffle in staff.
it nearly put me off park resorts sites, and then i visited warden springs!!!! which was just as bad.
since then have been in a static at highfield grange which was good, and recently visited waterside which was good fun.
