We need to spend a few days in our motor home in Liverpool followed by a few days in Rhyl. Ideally we'd like to be close to public transport to get into the middle of the city and town. Any one ideas for decent camp sites? I've trawled through the site review section but nothing ideal has come up. Thanks.

There are no sites in Liverpool, the nearest to our great city is Abbey Farm in Ormskirk which is about ten miles away, other than that try Southport....good luck.
You will find a couple of sites on the Wirral including a beautiful CC site but you would have to park your motorhome at one of the stations to get the underground into Liverpool.
There is also Riverside - which has a bus stop outside, where you can get a bus into Southport, and then the train into Liverpool. What ever you do, don't take a car or motorhome into Liverpool City Centre at the moment as parking is a nightmare. The centre is going throught all sorts of redevelpment for Capital of Culture, and so much parking has been lost.
Surely you've heard of , Ferry 'cross the Mersey !!!!

Abbey Farm near Ormskirk is a good site and I'm sure you can get the train into Liverpool from nearby. The Lion in nearby Burscough does good food and has a lovely big garden with a great park.Have Fun.
Although there are no sites in Rhyl there is Henlys farm in Towyn which is on a main bus route ,every 10 mins to Rhyl or Llandudno during the day time. Next door to this site is Ty mawr which is on over priced Haven site avoid.
Alternatively there is a site called Nant mill in Prestatyn which is served by a half hourly bus service into Rhyl or a 10 minute walk into Prestatyn. Hope this is of help.
