Camp site in Leek / Bakewell / Buxton....any recommendations for sites in this area for tents would be appreciated. We are going next weekend 15th Sept and require toilets and showers. Have done a camp site search but need more help. Thank you.

Cottage farm, Blackwell in the peak is a nice farm site, it has a separate camping field and the views are lovely from there the toilets and showers are basic but clean.

hi you dont say how much you want to pay but Newhaven is situated between Ashbourne and Buxton and is nice (tho boggy if wet so keep eye on weather), or Rivendale on same road, but a bit pricey. Could also try Blackshaw Moor CC site in Leek. Depends what you want and what price you want to pay really.
Have good time wherever you end up!!
------------- why is there so much month left at the end of the money?
I can also vouch for Cottage Farm between Bakewell and Buxton. Have been to this site 4 times now in the past 2 years. Basic but clean with adequate facilities, very friendly and helpful owners.
this may not help your question but stayed in buxton about 7 years ago in really good site which had pub in it and a small swimming pool behind the pub. It also had direct access onto the tissington bike trail. Been trying to remember name and find info online for it but haven't been able to find it. Can anyone help??
just read rest of thread above now, callowtop is the site i was looking for...thanks. as i say went their 7 years ago thought it was a lovely site, is it on the search on this website, so can add to virtual brochure?
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I have been on nights all weekend so have not been able to look at them until now. I am from Leicester and the rest of my family are coming from north Wales so I have to find a site which is roughly the same milage for us all. They moan if they have to do even 5 miles more than me! I am going to spend the rest of the day looking at sites and multimap and then make a decision that hopefully all will be happy with.
Thanks again..Alison

Another good site is the Grouse and Claret hotel based in Rowsley. Behind it it has a large camping field and hardstanding for about 25 caravavans. £12.50 a night for a caravan and £7.50 for tents. They do good reasonable priced food as well
