WANTING TO GO BLACKY NXT WK FOR COUPLE OF NIGHTS WITH MY 2 BOYS.ANYONE KNOW ANY NICE ONES.NOT TOO FAR DONT WANT TO TAKE CAR IN TOWN BUT WILLING TO CATCH BUSES.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Good idea to check. Does any of the ones you have seen on the search have good reviews?
If I want to know where the sites are in relation to the town, I use the AA route planner cos they do a really good map and tell you in miles how far you have to travel.
A few members come from over that way so you should get someone who is more help than me!!

mere merton dont ake my word for speling lol but the bus collects you off the site and clean showers and loos we went there last year nice spaced out pitshes and club on site
Gillett Farm no longer take tents ,new owners. We want to go camping to Blackpool last weekend of Sept so whilst up that way yesterday we decided to have a look around. Had a look at Windy Harbour , site facilities looked great but we have an 8 man wynster and the pitches look too small. This ,believe it or not ,is the nearest site ,that accepts tents, to Blackpool and it's 6 miles away. Called at another site that's 4 miles outside Blackpool but although they still display tent signs they to have stopped taking tents.
We are now at the mercy of any local members who may know of some 'hidden ' sites near to town who are tent friendly.

The Best one is in Blackpool itself!. Try Hampton Road Caravan Park....Very close to the pleasure beach and all other attractions but you would need to book in advance....Floyd.
We have just got back from Windy Harbour,it seemed OK,except no one came to clean the toilets once the whole time we were there, they were in a bad state by Sunday. The bus stop was a good walk from the campsite and its very dark on the road,so you would need to take torches with you if your coming back in the dark.
Unfortunatly Blackpool its self does not have any sites that take tents....have you looked at Hardhorn Breaks, High Bank Farm, Hardhorn, Poulton this is the nearest I can find to Blackpool....the Line 2 & 2c Blackpool Transport run from Hardhorn Road and Normoss Road a couple of mins walk away from the site and will take you to South Shore near to South Pier, the Sandcastle and Pleasure Beach. The other sites I have found are a C &CC Cl at Marton Moss limited bus service Which is called Greenacres.... Up at Thornton there are two sites Stannah House Caravan Park and Kneps Farm, their is a bus service from Stannah Country Park just across the road...not sure why this service goes to??? run by Ribble I think....both of these sites are very nice. Windy Harbour is not near Blackpool and should in fact be under either Hambleton or Singleton and would take a long time on a bus. I would look at High Bank Farms web site which can be found on the 'camp site search' under Blackpool. It is in a very nice countryside area. Again if you need any more help or advice please email me.

To be honest ianork I feel that Blackpool is lettting the campers down...they too like every other holiday maker have money in their pocket to spend so why most of the sites don't cater for tents I do not know....Mariclough Camping on Preston New Road at Peel just on the edge of Blackpool near to the end of the M55 do take tents but are Adult only.
Suzzie I agree about Windy Harbour not being very near Blackpool, but its listed amongst the Blackpool sites on here, which is how we ended up going there to check it out for our cousins in London, neither of them drive and really this site would not be a good choice for them.
