Hi again everybody

We are travelling from Doncaster to Settle at the weekend. Anyone any ideas on the best route. Travelling after 9.00am

From Donny I would suggest up the A1, off through Harrogate and Skipton, then onto Settle.

Definately the route Mike suggests. Don't make the mistake we made the 1st time we went there, M62 and totatally lost in Bradford.

Before you set off, check out what's happening at the Showground in Harrogate, could be a huge bottleneck off the A1!

If you would prefer a scenic drive, you could go Pately Bridge and across the moors via Grassington Kettlewell and Arncliffe. Worth a day out in its own right!

we did that Elaine and it was a nightmare, never again. Was gonna go to Settle again in May but booked to go to France again instread

I cover that area as a service engineer, the route i would take is;

A1 north to Boston spa (signedposted Otley)(its the 2nd exit after the A64) follow signs to Otley, the follow Ilkley from Otley, then Skipton from Ilkley, then to Settle.

Where in Settle are you looking for?

Did giantstu's route a couple of weeks ago and it was fine.

A friend took the Harrogate route and was held up badly getting through.

We also stopped at Casey's Camping in Otley - which you pass right by - for a nosey. Couldn't resist!

We did this and it held us up no end, the route planner we used sent us this way god knows why.
