i tried camping for the first time in august and really enjoyed it ,would it be a good idea to try and go somewhere in half term or will camping that late be a disaster? i was thinking of going local again probably northumberland, if its a no-no what is easter usually like? is that when the new season begins

Obvious answer is that it will depend on the weather.

However, with a bit of heating and some electric it can be fun (remmeber it gets dark earlier as well, so lighting becomes more of an issue, as well as heat).

Nice thing is that the camp sites are relatively quiet and devoid of the summer ASBO noise morons.

Do some searches on the Tent forum, as it has been discussed quite a bit.

Hi

Just make sure you have adequate lighting, heater if you have electric hook up and take plenty of warm clothes. Wear a woolly hat in bed as it will keep you a lot warmer. If you use a site with entertainemt on or that has indoor facilities you can spend the evenings indoor if the weather turns bad or too cold.

cheers

steve

Hi
Last October half term was very warm and sunny with shorts during the day and pleasant evenings. October before that was very wet and cool with wellies being the order of the day. Hard to predict the weather. Just go and enjoy and remember to take clothing to keep you warm as it is easy to remove layers. EHU and a heater is also beneficial.

Enjoy and stay safe

Kevin
