Hey people...

Me and a bunch of friends were due to be camping at the O'Neil Surf Championships this coming weekend, but due to the lack of surf, they've postponed at the last minute.

As we're all packed up and ready to go, we're looking for ideas on where we can go instead?

Cheers!

They are some lovely campsites around Malton and Pickering if that is the area you are looking for.

I'd set my sights on seeing the sea!!

Scarborough sounds good... any suggestions on sites that would allow 4 VW campervans and a tiny caravan!

I recommend St Helens, Wykeham 6 miles from Scarborough and an excellent site. See reviews in the Campsite section.

All the best.

Why dont you try Sandhaven Campsite in South Shields ? it is opposite the beach where quite a few people surf and there are loads of pubs within walking distance and a pretty good nightlife. There are also loads of curry and italian restaurants.

Get yourself down !!!!! you'll enjoy it !! (see my profile for a photo of the beach)

Can I recommend Beadnell in Northumberland...

It's a C&CC site, right next to the sea, and Beadnell village is just down the road, with two excellent pubs, and a beach that goes on for miles - brill surfing there if the weather is right...

At night, when the tide is in, people don their wetsuits and jump off the harbour walls into the sea...

Robin Hoods Bay is well worth going to, we didn't stay there though, we we're camping back at Helmsley but I did check out a couple of sites near the bay, Ive forgotten the names of the sites but they're in the UK Campsite directory.
