Hi

We are off to Skelwith Fold for Oct half term and was wondering if anyone has stayed there before.  I searched  here but no joy.  We had our first excursion in our newly acquired TT to the dreaded Billing and I just want to make sure this site is decent.  Brochure and website all look good but then Billing advertises itself well!!

I did tell them I had a TT and they said I just needed to bring 'rock pegs', a hammer and strong man (optional) as the surface is compacted gravel.  As a novice to this - does that sound correct or am I going to drive for hours and be stuck!!

A cracking quiet site set in woods, Fantastic site, You will love it. Great showers, facilities and great location. No chavy bars or clubs just piece and quiet !!

The price reflects the standard!!!

 Beautiful area, site is really peaceful, though one morning we were woken by a deer at dawn, cor they don't half make a row, wondered what it was till we looked out and saw it there, didn't mind though it was all part of the lovely holiday there.

 Wray castle is worth a visit, you can't go round the castle but it's free to walk through the grounds and down to the edge of lake windermere.

Best I let my OH know - he has the job of putting it all up with darling son (!!) while I supervise.  Does sound great and being woken by a deer sounds more enjoyable than a fat cat on the bed every morning.  Cant wait
