I'm looking for a campsite in a central location in Blackpool, we found the perfect site, Hampton Road Caravan Site but unfortunately it is fully booked. Any suggestions, we're going on Saturday 28th October.
Cheers

No other site close to Blackpool Pleasure Beach.....sorry......have a look on the camp site search....it would mean either driving into to Blackpool each day .....but if you are early enough you could park near the solarium (just down the road from the Pleasure Beach) free to park on road.... Marton Mere (Haven site) has a bus service from the site but this site hasn't got great reviews. The CC site is nice but it's members only. There are a number of cl's in Blackpool but all are on the outskirts..... hope this helps......if you need any more advice please just ask.
we were looking for 21st - 28th October and found that most of the sites were full, we found one in Lytham (around 8 miles away i think) that did have some availability, not found many sites around Blackpool, most are in the campsite search on UKCS though.
Have you looked at Highbank Farm, Hardhorn, Poulton which is nearer to Blackpool than Lytham or Richmond Hill Caravan Park on St.Annes Road, South Shore, Blackpool.... which is the next nearest site being close to the airport. There is also a nice site at Thornton Kneps Farm it would take you around half an hour by car to reach Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Thanks for your help, we need to stay somewhere which is close to the centre as we don't want to drive, we want to drink instead. I tried Marton Mere but got a short message back telling me that its not a camp SITE, yes, it was in capitals.
I'll have a look at your suggestions, thanks again.
But Marton Mere does take tourers so can't understand what their problems is. Richmond Hill is on a bus route no.7 which will take you into Blackpool or you can take a five min walk to Highfield Road and catch a no.5 to South Shore near the Pleasure Beach....you could even walk to the prom from take you around fifteen mins.
Hi I had the exact same problem and rang around loads of campsites yesterday in and around Blackpool in order to find one for the 24th October for 3 nights. Everywhere is fully booked as it is the kids half term week. We are taking our young grandaughter and niece away for the week and promised them a few days in Blackpool but its been an absolute nightmare finding a site for our motorhome which has any availability. What I found odd is that a lot of sites do not take motor homes for some reason! Anyway, in the end we have managed to book 1 night at Richmond Hill caravan park which apparantley is approx 1 mile from the promendade and the other 2 nights at Kneps Farm which is approx 6 miles away from Blackpool.
I really do not think you will get in anywhere else at this late stage Claire but if you strike lucky and do manage to find somewhere with availability I would grab it quick. As for wanting a drink you will prob have to use public transport or taxis as there are very few campsites in Blackpool located near to all the attractions. Hampton Road is the most central but that is nearly always fully booked up especially at weekends and school holidays.
Best of luck anyway.

Glad you manage to find a site Sonesta I live not to far from Richmond Hill. Have a look on www.blackpooltransport.com the no. 7 picks up outside the site and will take you into Blackpool Center. You will like Kneps Farm it is next to Stannah Country Park which has a tourist information center and walks along the river.

Why cant we all do what the pikeys do and just set up camp on a carpark, then wait until the council gets an eviction notice which we can wait until it is due for enforcement, then move on.........to the next carpark along....

Why scoop to there level it only upsets the local residents......like myself....I do feel though that anyone who wants to start a camp site in Blackpool for tents would do well.

We are visiting Blackpool from 27 - 29th Oct. My children are 13 and 10. Apart from the McDonalds/KFC type eating can you suggest any reasonable places to eat. I have looked up JD Weatherspoons but it is an adult only pub. Also do you have to pay to enter the Pleasurebeach or can you still buy tickets for rides. I have not visited for 25 years so I'm sure things have changed a bit!!!! Last question is it a long wait to go up the tower as mine really want to do this.
Hi, We visit each year and this year when we visited the pleasure beach you can still enter for free and the best deal is to buy wristbands for unlimited rides, And at the moment there are some great offers on. As for the tower we have never really queued but if it's windy the lifts to the top close down so the top is closed for viewing which does spoil it as the main reason to visit is to go to the top ! !. But the circus inside is great. As for places to eat...there are so many ! From takeaways to decent restaurants, Everyone will have a favourite, I would visit and have a look at whats on offer you'll definately find something to your liking
you do have to register, but its free, the send u a email containing your password to download the voucher, also i have heard that the Sunday Mirror is also doing an offer, however, down here in Devon the offer is for Legoland, not sure if its northern editions that are doing the pleasure beach offer
We usually take the kids upstairs in 'The Manchester' to eat, it is quite a large family room and quite nice up there with a good view of the lights, extensive menu and reasonable prices, there is a small ball pit although your kids like mine will be too old for that, but there are also a few machines to keep them amused.
In the center of Blackpool there is Bella Pasta, pizza hut and Harry Ramsdens....some of the out of town center pubs like Yeadon Way (Brewers Fayre) is nice (which is situated at the end of the link road into Blackpool by the first large carpark you come to). There are loads of resturants....if you like Italain Mamma's on Topping Street in the center is nice. You would be best having a walk around and seeing what takes your fancy. You don't have to pay to go into the Pleasure Beach....not sure whether you will end up queueing for the tower.....I would get their early if it is half term as the queues outside do get long. If you want fish and chips again there is a good one on Topping Steet.
