Just wondering if anybody knows of a good site on the I.O.W that is in very short walking distance of a beach??. This would be our first time to the I.O.W and in our new caravan next summer.

Nodes Point at St Helens. The beach is straight out side the gate at the bottom of the park.To the left it's a countryside type of beach (even has rabbits on it in the morning) to the right, still quiet but with beach huts, toilets and shop. Both beaches and the sea are clean and no dog restrictions. You can also walk round to the next bay which is lovely. It's a Park Resorts site with bars, swimming pool etc. but you can't see any of this from the tourer and camping areas so it's fairly quiet and peaceful but the facillities are there if you want them. However, we always go in September, It may  be different in the school hols.

whitecliff Bay as a lovely beach. If you are on the touring pitches it is a 10 min walk across the static site and down the slope access to beach. We were there this summer and spent 2 full days on the beach we carried alll sorts picnic and beach equipment across . Some lazy people or with very young children took the car across to the other site and parked by the pool then it was a mins walk down to the beach.

We also stayed at Grange Farm, its a lovely site and the kids really enjoyed having the beach right on the doorstep. We were at the beach end of the site towards the cliff and it did get very windy, if we go again we would probably go on the middle field where there was a breeze and not gale force winds

Stayed at both Whitecliff Bay (July) and Nodes Point (September) this year and both are lovely sites.  Beach access at Whitecliff Bay is fine for anyone without mobility problems but the path back is quite steep. They also do a very reasonable package including Ferry crossing.
