Thanks, will have a look, not really bothered where it is as Phil is in Leicester and I am still in Wigan for the moment, so either way we will have to travel

Ours too - I only go with my friend who's parents have a van there. The occaisional drunken weekend without the kids! If I am honest though I wouldn't choose it. But hey, it has a pool!
The owners take every penny they can - had a barbecue to celebrate some site anniversary and charged the campers for the bouncy castle and the burgers...burgers eh!

Dont know how far you want to travel but have a look at brighouse bay it is in the south west of scotland about 3 hours drive from you and is only £15.00 per night all included no matter how many. There is a swimming pool small bowling alley and games room plus 2 golf courses. Not far from the site is the cream of galloway which is a great day out for kids and not expensive (food is but you can take your own and eat it in the play barn) it is an ice cream factory with a giant play area and maze set in the forest so even in the rain you can enjoy it. You also have the town of Kirkcudbright ( prononced kirkcuubrae) which has a small zoo.
You might want to check out Skipsea Sands at http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1061 It has lots of good reviews. We've been visiting it for years. I think they close for part of January but give them a quick phone call.

does anyone know anywhere that is nearer to Leicester, as Phil can't take his kids out of school and would only arrive late, where as I can, so can leave early morning to get to a site

If you don't mind a bit of a drive try Whitemead in the Forest of Dean (nr Gloucester) - the website doesn't mention caravans or tents - the only place you'll find any details about them is in the price list.
It's got a great pool (no slides or anything though), nice restuarant and bar, close (5 mins walk) to a renovated steam railway, LOTS of open space to run around in.
We've already booked easter and will be probably going there in February half term.
