can anyone recommend a good campsite near Edingburgh for a family of 4 (2 young children) On the same site we also need to hire a lodge or caravan for my mum.
thanks

We stayed at Haven Holiday Parks Seaton Sands, its full on with pool, club and SLOT MACHINES, has a touring park but mostly statics, its near Longniddry where we got the train to Edinburgh which was about 15 mins away. Its worth a look. There is a lovely promenade to walk down, maybe 3/4 mile to a small shop and chippy, we rode our bikes a lot. The area is nice.
Good luck

Stayed at Drum Mohr, just outside edinburgh in august this year. They also have lodges for hire and the bus into the city is 5 mins walk away, train station is bit further. We would use the site again if visiting Edinburgh
We were unable to stay at Drum Mohr this year as hubby was taken ill. They are just fantastic they gave us our money back..... which was totally unexpected. Will be booking there as soon as possible for next year. Friends who live in Grangemouth went to look round for us and said it was a lovely site.

You could try Linwater campsite which is in east calder. This site is handy for Edinburgh and only 30 minutes drive into the city or local park and ride. You can hire a small log cabin which is around Ģ20 a night. Site is of an excellent standard and well looked after by Jean the owner. We have been there many times and have never been disappointed.
