Hi All

Like a lot of families, each year we travel to Europe, spending hundreds £££s in fuel, Ferry fares, travel insurance etc. Last year a trip to Luxembourg including site fees cost us £800, before spending money, food, entrance fees, and the cost of kenneling our 2 dogs.

For summer 2007 we've decided to stay in the UK, and reckon even the most expensive site will be cheaper than going abroad (once fuel has been factored in), and we can take the dogs.

We have a Caravan and full Awning, we must have EHU and spotless facilities, we have a 6yr old daughter, so a safe playground is a must, an indoor pool would be a bonus, as would some local (ish)attractions within say 30 miles.

We are CC members, but also use non CC sites.

I fancy trying Scotland, but haven't been since the early 90's. The last UK summer holiday we had was Ilfracombe, so Devon or Cornwall would be OK, or anywhere in between.

I know its a bit vague, but it might help us (and others) narrow our search.

Cheers

Paul

Well I second the idea of the Isle of Wight - we went to Adgestone which is close to nearly all attractions (apart from the Needles which are about an hour away). The site itself is 4* and beautifully kept. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool for the children - ours lived in it!  It also has a fishing lake and a large open grass area with a play park at one end, goal posts for football, basketball hoops etc. I'm VERY fussy about the sites I visit but this really was up there amongst the best.

The island is crammed with things to keep kids happy - and Ventnor is simply beautiful - like being in the med!

We looooove the Isle Of Wight , have been going for to many years to remember. East Cowes (Waverley Park ) is wonderful for the kids, outdoor pool, entertainment most nights for kids  & owners realy kiddy friendly. They prefer kids to adults. So happy kids mean happy adults.  Have a look  at the web site. I would really recommend.

Hoborne Torbay (Paignton).  Lots to see - big water park on the beach, beaches are great, site is very clean, indoor and out door pool.  They were making some alterations when we were down last year.  Mate of mine has been going for years.

The link should take you to their review page (fingers crossed).

Wood Farm at Charmouth in Dorset. Indoor pool, play area, tennis etc. West Dorset has loads to do and see, some great beaches and people often leave it alone in their rush to get to Devon. Visit and be pleasantly surprised!!

Scotland is great but the South West is good too.  The CC have some reasonably priced sites in the South West if you don't need full facilities St Agnes Beacon is inexpensive even peak season .

Scotland is a lot quieter and plenty of quieter sites there.

You will have so much fun deciding where to go.

If you are set on going abroad your Tesco vouchers (if you save them) can help towards your ferry fare.
