Anyone been here before and thinking of booking again?

You may already know this but the site has changed hands over the winter. However it will still be run by the (new) resident owner/managers and they are not planning to change the character of the site in any way.  They say,

"My wife and I looked for a park for 15 months to run ourselves and found nothing as lovely as Sun Haven so we have no intention of changing the park, - which includes no changes to pitch sizes, policies, ( all Keith's rules will remain) or detriment to facilities. There will be no club, no restaurant and no disco.

We may instal an internet point to check email, possibly a card controlled barrier at the entrance but those are the extremes of our ideas at present as the park seems to have been running just as we would want it to ( all suggestions welcome by the way). We have taken on the  price increases that we understand were to be implemented by Keith & Tracey ( generally circa 5% )

We are, and always will be resident on the park

- and of course we hope that this is what you wanted to hear. "

We went last year it is a fantastic location but very busy in the summer. So personally I would not go in season again.

The water from the washing up area runs down the slope maybe that could be looked at as it is waste water.

The toilet windows are frosted but are very low.

The big disappointment was no TV reception, I was told it was due to the wind farm by the then owners. i know there is a tv lounge but I like my own TV.

I would return though but as I said high season is not for me.

Good luck with your new buisness.

We have been a couple of times for long weekends, and have booked a week there in August this year.

But we had a letter a couple of weeks back saying that they have had to change the pitches in order to meet local council regulations; they have had to put a spacer in every few pitches.  As a result they have reduced the number of pitches, and I suspect they may be a little smaller than they used to be.

It is one of my favourite sites, and we have been going to Mawgan Porth for years now, so I hope it is still a winner.

many thanks for the help, as im going just before schools break up i get a double pitch for the price of one.... i think this is brill and also cheap compared to other sites. Its costing us £185 for 10 nights for a pitch size of 11 by 12m approx.

Hope its a gtood site now. As long as its quite i can cope. what pitches in your opinion are good to get with EHU? i have prebooked 105 and 106 opposite side to the stream.

If I remember correctly, these should be lovely pitches. Close enough to the central facilities area (showers, toilets, washing up, play park...) but not so close you've got the world and his wife going past your door all the time. Again, quite close to a water point but not too close. Slightly up from the pitches in the middle and backing onto the stream so a nice look out. Trees behind so not overlooked from the back.  Sun in the evening I think, but don't quote me on that.

Think I'll come too! MT

Word of warning we paid our depost and then we were given a date to pay the balance we did it on line and before the date stated.

We didn't hear from them so assumed everything was ok.

When we arrived they said our booking had been cancelled.

I asked why and was told it was because i'd paid on line? this is an option offered by them.

They did apologise and said they had a pitch for us (luckily)

We didn't have a letter to say the booking was cancelled or there was any problem.

Hope you have a lovely time
