Anyone recommend a convenient stopover campsite for caravan close to M6 travelling south somewhere between Manchester and Birmingham?

Will be driving from Carinryan to south devon and wnat to break the journey a little more than half way.

Thanks

We have used Stafford services for a night halt, cost a tenner, or they clamp you. Nothing really to recommend it.

Best motorway stop over is probably Tebay, but that's about an hour before Manchester; and so not far enough south for you.

Hollybank Caravan Park in Rixton, near Warrington is about 2 miles off Jct 21 of M6, but it doesn't get very good reviews on here.  I live near it and it looks like they have done a bit of work on it over the past year and I think it may have changed hands.  Would not reccomend for a long stay but it may be worth looking at if its just for a one night stop off.

One of my favourite small sites yet again - Dunston Heath Farm near Stafford off J13 M6 but I don't know if that would be too far south for you. I would do 2 night halts on your journey.

Thanks for your help folks.

Looks like there is not a great selection in that area.

Will have to reschedule stopover perhaps.

I sometimes pass Woodbine Caravan Park near Northwich. It looks quite nice by the riverside, if a little on the small side. OK for 1 night or a weekend.

Its on the A49, 3 miles south of M56 Juntion 10.

How about Kingsbury Water Park

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1603

Between M6 toll road and M42 just NW of Birmingham. Its a lovely site and would be great for a couple of days

Mike
