Hi. I think it's going to be Wareham Forest for us in August. I've read excellant reviews and just wondered if anybody else can give me their views.

We are in a tent, have 2 young children and are going with another family and they use a caravan.

Any replies appreciated....thanks

We've been a few times. Really like this site. We've been without EHU and had a really lovely pitch in the Glade. The EHU pitches look a good size though.

When our children were younger they found the play area a bit of a challenge but it is a big sand pit so you may want to take the bucket and spades with you.

Recommend this site. It is lovely.

Went to Wareham Forest in  August 2005. Lovely site. I agree with Mark and Sherry about the toilet blocks from the tent area. Would go back again.  Lovely beaches at Studland but expensive to park.

Wareham Forest is fab ! one of our fave sites.

we go in the caravan, but as been previously said - some tent pitches are a little further away than the van pitches.  If you prefer to be nearer the facilities - ask. Dont know whether you are taking bikes...but bikes are a good idea to use to the loo's and there are excellent tracks from the site.

The toilet/shower facilities are spotless.  Nice little shop and the site is always clean and tidy.  Loads of walks, tracks etc direct from park along lots of lovely footpaths winding through the forest.  My sister went in her tent in summer and her husband did have problems with midges as they pitched under the trees, so be prepared with some bite repellant/anti histamene if you are prone to bites/reactions.  But please dont let it spoil this lovely site.

Wareham itself is a short driveaway - lots of nice little shops to browse in.  Somerfield is the best supermarket in Wareham, its visable on the main high street - but the parking is behind the supermarket itself.  Swanage is not far (nice beach) and studland bay too.

I've just looked at an old wareham forest map I had.

If you prefer to be nearer the toilets I would ask for a pitch in the "glade camping area" of the park - this is for tents only in a small wooded area a short walk away from the loo's.  your friends with the caravan could pitch in the "south field" area which is adjoining the "glade camping area".

If you prefer to be pitched right next to each other you will probably have to go in the "east field area" which is further away from the facilities.

I would ring the site and ask for their opinion.  they are really friendly

We have already booked Wareham Forest for 6 nights from 4th August I too went on the reviews- haven't see a bad one yet! can't wait!!!
