Hi,  Just picked up on this topic and realised we are booked with them at Easter. We are staying for the first time at Spiers House, near Pickering. We are booked in for 3 Nights & have been charged £48.90 for two Adults, 1 Caravan, 1 Car & two dogs. Didn't think that was too bad - perhaps they charge more in the Southern Sites?

While we're on the subject - has anybody been to Spiers House, who hasn't put up a review? Would be interested in your comments - or from anybody else who is going here at Easter.

What time of the year did you stay at Spiers House, we are going at Easter - will the midgies be on their winter holidays that early in Season - hope so!. Apparantly eating Marmite is supposed to be good to repel them. We too have been to Fangfoss and enjoyed the Site - only problem was the Shower Block but this might have been updated by now.

The situation has partly been brought on by campers themselves. Just from reading comments on this site it seems that a growing majority are more interested in how sparkling the toilet blocks are, rather than the many other benefits of camping.  How long do they spend in the toilet?

More CL sites are now providing EHU because,  heaven forbid some people would have to leave the hairdryer at home.

I don't suppose you can blame the Forestry Commission for moving with the times and supplying facilities that the majority now seem to want.
