Looking for a cheapish camp site within walking distance of surfing facilities in Cornwall / Devon which accepts dogs- Would have paid for Trevornick but advised it is fully booked ....

Ruda I think is no dogs ......

Reading reviews on Bay Farm at Croyde - doesn't inspire with all the rules etc

Just to top it would like some coarse fishing if possible !

Suggestions / recommendations welcome ...... please

Tell me when some one finds this place called heaven.

I know of a couple of sites down Newquay way but I don't think they are walking distance of the beach.

Just found I have deleted the other one I really liked from brochure!

Can you surf at Watermouth Cove?  We stayed at Woolacoombe and fished on a site called Mill Park opposite Watermouth Cove Campsite.  Newberry sells day tickets for it fishing lake. Very steep roads which is why him in doors hasn't ventured that way since.

Try Valley Park - Polzeath - two minutes walking to the surf, not sure about dogs, but inclined to think they did allow them.

Think you might have probs finding a cheap site that close to the beach - most of them are premium sites charging premium rates in school holidays especially.

Hope you have luck

Hi,

we are staying at Gunvenna, St. Minver, not for surfing! (don't think I will take it up at my age), it's cheap but about 5 miles from the beach I think, so if you fancy a long walk...

Hi.

Polzeath is great for surfing, but NB dogs are not allowed on the beach there. . We have tried the Valley (walking distance but no dogs), Tristram (brilliant clifftop location, two steps to the beach, allows dogs but mind bogglingly expensive) and Gunvenna (reasonable price, good facilities, allows dogs and short drive to the beach). Your choice!

Mawgan Porth between Newquay and Padstow is a surfing beach which allows dogs on. Sun Haven Valley, The Marver and Magic Cover  campsites are all within walking distance and all allow dogs. We have stayed on SHV which is good but I wouldn't call it cheap. Magic Cove  is tiny but looks good if you don't need any child play facilities, I think it gets very booked up though. MT

Thanks Merry Terrier

Enough info to keep me busy for a while - looks like we may have to drive though unless we pay the extra.

Cheers

You sure Trevornick is fully booked?

They usually have an overflow area, Red Field I think?
