I have recently booked a weeks stay, in a tent, at Reighton Sands for only £21!  However, having now read reviews posted on this site (hardly gowing tributes), I am wondering if i have made a mistake?  I have a 3 year old son (and wife!!!), and a large tent, and being near a beach is important as ar facilities.  Any suggestions for alternative places to try, or Reighton not as bad as it sounds?

CC site at Whitley Bay is lovely and not too far from beach.

OOPs Sorry, just read that you have a tent and they don't take tents.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.

If you do change your mind i suppose £21 is going to break the bank might be worth checking other sites in the area and discuss with wife first !!!!

The camp site search facility on here is brilliant and can browse a particular area.

Good Luck and Welcome to UKCS xxx

I have a weekend booked at Reighton Sands in March and we have not visited for at least 35years (giving age away now!).

It used to be a great place with static hire and chalets but it is now a Haven site so I imagine it is quite different.

I would not worry too much, use it as a base if your not happy,Filey,Scarborough ,Bridlington and Flamborough are all very close and there are some great walks along the beach, you can reach Filey and get the bus back!

It is worth visiting the area and if you don't like it then put it down to experience!

Although I appreciate you have a 3yo and trecking great distances may not be an option,do visit the local area.

Hope it turns out ok,I am sure we will see a massive change in the place but we are going to give it a whirl, after all it's only one weekend isn't it?!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Hi,

My boss goes here often- actually she was prcing up a static there for July last week. Her and her family say its great.

For £21 you can up and go when you feel like. There have been many bad reviews and vice versa about sites that I have visited and quite often they dont match what we have experienced. Depends what you want, some like it quiet some like it busy.

I agree Nic,nothing ventured nothing gained, for £21 if it's naf we will just have a couple of trips up or down that coastline.

Think it will be fine in March.

Think positive!

Never regret the things you have done only the things you have not done!

Val

ps Nic,I have tried to do the glitter thing and I just can't seem to get the hang of it!
